Meet the Zinga Hoops
We’re excited to start a new series on the blog where we shine a spotlight on some of our favorite products. We'll be sharing what makes them special, how they’re made, and the impact they create.
For our first highlight, we’re featuring the Zinga Hoops from the YEWO Collective. Based in Northern Malawi, YEWO creates jewelry that blends timeless style with social impact. Their jewelry are some of our bestsellers, and the Zinga Hoops are a perfect example.
Crafted with care, the hoops are made from responsibly sourced and recycled metals, using 14k recycled gold-plated brass with sterling silver posts. They’re lightweight, hypoallergenic, and versatile, perfect for everyday wear. “Zinga” means “to twist” in Tumbuka, perfectly describing these everyday hoops and their subtle design.
What makes these hoops even more special is the impact behind them. Each piece is handmade in a solar-powered workshop in rural Malawi, where artisans are provided with fair wages, safe workspaces, and access to opportunities like education and interest-free loans. For an even greater impact, YEWO also plants a tree in Northern Malawi for every purchase.
The Zinga Hoops are more than just jewelry. They represent a choice to support ethical fashion, sustainable practices, and artisans who are shaping brighter futures. Thank you for shopping fair trade!
